FC Koln winger, Kingsley Schindler, has revealed his desire to play for the Black Stars of Ghana.

The 29-year-old is having a good start to the season after making the first team in the Bundesliga opener against Schalke O4. Schindler helped Koln beat Schalke 3-1 at the RheinEnergie Stadion.

The German-born attacker is hoping his performances convince Otto Addo ahead of the World Cup in Qatar.

"I've said many times that it's a dream of mine to play for my parents' country," he said as quoted by Kicker. "Of course you know each other and are always in contact. That spurs you on. I want to play good games with Cologne and continue to gas then Otto Addo has to decide," he added.

Schindler is seen as direct replacement for top scorer Anthony Modeste, who left for Borussia Dortmund last week.

Last season, Schindler was limited to few games due to injury and personal issues.

"We have a large squad, every player always gives 100 percent, in every training session and every game. The coach has to make decisions that we have to accept," added Schindler .

"You always have to be ready to play and to help the team."
