GFA explain Frank Acheampong's absence for Black Stars friendly against Morocco

The Ghana Football Association have explained the reason for winger Frank Acheampong's absence for the Black Stars international friendly against Morocco on Tuesday. 

According to the football federation, the Shenzen FC captain had to be excused from the game because of the burial of his late mother.

Acheampong laid his beloved late mother to rest at the weekend and still managed to find time to see of the team at the airport in the early hours of Monday morning.

"Frank is bereaved," wrote the FA on their official website. "He laid his late mother to eternal glory over the weekend and couldn’t make time to join the team for the matches. But the China based winger was at the Airport to see the team off as a sign of support."

Frank Acheampong could rejoin the team when they arrive from Rabat for the second friendly against Ivory Coast on June 12, 2021.
