Ghana League Clubs Association chairman Kudjoe Fianoo has disclosed that there will be an emergency meeting with the clubs to discuss issues concerning the television coverage of the upcoming Ghana Premier League season.

The 2017/18 Ghana Premier League season was launched on Monday at the forecourt of the Ghana Football Association amidst ecstasy among the local league advocates.

However, the joy of some teeming supporters of the various clubs were short-lived following widespread reports that Ghana Premier League broadcast right holders, StarTimes have proposed that some clubs move their home venues to the Cape Coast Sports Stadium before their games will be telecast.

Speaking to Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM, GHALCA boss Kudjoe Fianoo indicated that no affirmative decision has been taken yet on the subject matter but will meet with the clubs within this week to discuss the issue extensively.

"GHALCA to call emergency meeting this week to discuss issues concerning our league's TV coverage," Fianoo told Oyerepa FM.

"It's surprising how the Chinese want us to kowtow to theirs only. The state of Ghana Football will be very paramount for discussion."

Meanwhile, media reports suggest that WAFA will host Asante Kotoko in the first game of the season at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium on Sunday, March 4, instead of their Sogakope stomping ground.
