GHALCA disagrees with Baffour AFCON snub

Interim Ghana League Clubs Association boss Alhaji Ali Raji claims the exclusion of Emmanuel Baffour from the Nations Cup squad is a 'blow' to the Premier League.

The 22-year-old New Edubiase arrow man was dropped for the tournament after being named in the 25-man squad.

Baffour has made a case for himself after netting 11 goals in 12 league matches.

Alhaji Raji says coach Goran Stevanovic has disrespected the local league by refusing to overlook the budding talent.

"I think the coach does not respect our league and that’s why he will drop a player who has been in top form," Alhaji Raji said.

"The decision to leave him out of the final 23-man squad goes to tell one thing: It's not worth it playing in the local league because even if you play like Messi, you won't be called up for National team."

Reports in the local media claim South Korea –based Derek Asamoah was dropped because of passport problems as fans begin to question the competence of long –serving protocol officer of the FA Alex Asante.
