Ghana are among the lowest-ranked teams in the 2022 World Cup African qualifiers play-offs.

The Black Stars booked their spot in play-offs following a 1-0 win over South Africa on Sunday.

But they face the prospect of playing a very tough side because they aren’t seeded per the current FIFA rankings.

Ghana are in Pot 2 along with Egypt, Cameroon, Mali, and DR Congo while Pot 1 contains Senegal, Morocco, Tunisia, Nigeria and African champions Algeria.

Teams in Pot 1 will be drawn against Pot 2 teams which means there is a likelihood of Ghana facing their West African rivals Nigeria.

Ghana against Senegal is also a real possibility just like Ghana versus Morocco or a repeat of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations round 16 clash between Ghana and Tunisia.

Black Stars are seeking their fourth appearance at the global showpiece after missing out on the last edition in Russia.

The play-offs scheduled for March will determine the continent's five representatives in Qatar.
