Ghana-born Bayern Munich defender Alphonso Davies has confirmed his breakup with PSG forward Jordyn Huitema after nearly five years of dating.

The former Canadian power couple, both 21, had been dating since September 2017, and had started dating in Canada before moving to Europe to further their careers.

The couple had a YouTube channel together, which has since been deleted, as have all of their social media photos together.

In the wake of allegations that she was unfaithful, the Canadian international defended Huitema while also confirming that they are no longer together.

Yes Jordyn and I have parted ways. The rumours about her are not true.

'She is a good person I have a lot of respect for her.

'I wish her the best and ask everyone to respect our privacy.'

Davies is widely regarded as one of the best full-backs in the men's game, and he was instrumental in Canada's qualification for the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

This season, the left-back contributed six assists in 22 Bundesliga appearances to help Bayern win the league title.

Davies was sidelined for over three months due to a heart scare after testing positive for Covid-19 on December 17.

In January, he was diagnosed with heart inflammation.

Davies was born in Buduburam, a refugee camp in Ghana, to Liberian parents who later moved to Canada.
