Ghana-born Freddy Adu excels in Turkish debut

Ghana-born Freddy Adu produced a Man-of-the-Match performance for new club Caykur Rizespor in Turkey’s second division.

The 21-year old America international, on loan from Portuguese giants Benfica, starred as Rizespor defeated Orduspor 3-0 at the Yeni Rize Sehir Stadium.

Adu played 84 minutes, producing an assist as his new team went within two points of the top of the Turkish 1.Lig table.

It was his first competitive in 10 months when he debuted for Turkish second division side and played a role in two goals.

Adu set up the game's second goal, by Gokhan Kaba, and had a nice back-heel pass in the sequence leading to the penalty kick for the third goal.
