Ghana captain Andre Ayew congratulates debutants Ganiyu and Gyasi after Black Stars draw against South Africa

Ghana captain Andre Ayew has congratulated Black Stars debutants Ismael Ganiyu and Emmanuel Gyasi after making their debut in the 1-1 draw against South Africa on Thursday.

The duo and Kwame Opoku were all handed starting roles following the absence of several first team members due to COVID-19 traveling  restriction.

Ismael Ganiyu, who plays for Asante Kotoko impressed in defence, helping Ghana to an important draw.

Spezia’s Emmanuel Gyasi lasted 89 minutes on his debut.

Ayew who was missing took to his social media pages to congratulate the duo and the team for qualifying for AFCON 2021.

“Congratulations Guys. Very good point in a difficult game. Congrats to Ganiyu and Gyasi. Kudus Mohammed, my son did it again,” he wrote on Twitter.

The Swansea City ace joins the team in Accra for preparations for the final game of the qualifiers against São Tomé & Principe.

The Black Stars are seeking to confirm top spot with victory over the group’s strugglers.
