Ghana captain Andre Ayew set for Swansea City clash against Northampton in EFL Cup

Forward Andre Ayew could make his season bow in Swansea City's EFL Cup first round tie against Northampton on Tuesday.

The Ghana captain returned to Wales few days ago after being handed extra days off following his involvement in the Africa Cup of Nations.

The 29-year old has trained with the club and is available for the home game against Northampton.

Ayew has been linked with several clubs in Europe including a move back to the English Premier League but a last minute approach from an unnamed EPL club failed on deadline day.

The former Olympique Marseille attacker spent last season on loan at Turkish club Fenerbache, who were also interested in resigning him.

Ayew has not played a game so far this season in the English Championship, however his return is a boost for the club who will be missing on-loan striker Aldo Kalulu due to injury.
