Captain Asamoah Gyan says he is thrilled with the partnership developing between him and Abdul Majeed Waris in the Ghana.

Gyan is forming a deadly partnership with the Spartak Moscow player and has scored four goals in the three matches played at home in the qualifiers.

His brace in Tuesday's 6-1 drubbing of Egypt in the Brazil 2014 World Cup playoff first leg at home.

"Playing with Waris is good for me. He understands me and I also understand his play," Gyan is quoted by Goal.

"He is a very talented young player who always listens to what I tell him and he does just that."

Waris has scored in all three home matches for the Black Stars in the qualifier and Gyan puts the youngster's prolificacy down to hard work.

"Before every game I call him and tells him what he should do for me and he does just that," Gyan added.

"We have played together for months but everyone can see that the understanding is there, he has a bright future ahead of him."
