Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan will this week announce a massive cash gift to the country's female national team, the Black Queens, for winning gold at the 2015 All African Games in Congo.

The China-based attacker is credited for spurring the female side to victory at the competition which ended on Saturday by donating $10,000 before the start of the competition when they were in extreme financial difficulties.

The Black Queens were not paid their per diems as the competition started to cater for their basic needed but the Ghana male national team captain Gyan invited the entire squad for dinner before donating the $10,000 that helped to boost their confidence.

The Shanghai SIPG striker promised to donate more to the team if they manage to win the title and after defeating Cameroon in the final on Friday, the Black Queens are set for the massive cash windfall from Africa's highest paid footballer.

“In my meeting with the team before they started the competition I told them they can go all the way to make our nation proud,” Gyan told the Black Queens before the start of the competition.

“I told them they stood to gain a much bigger reward from me if they strive for success as my way of motivating the team.

“Our prayers are with the team and I will be watching and supporting the side with keen interest.

“I saw the hunger on the faces of the players when I first met them and I believe that hunger and drive they have will carry them to gold.”

The Black Queens beat Ivory Coast 1-0 in the semi final of the ongoing competition to set up a final date with Cameroon and defeated their nemesis 1-0 at the death of Friday's final.
