Ghana coach assures Kevin Boateng of future

Ghana coach Goran Stevanovic says Kevin-Prince Boateng is still part of the Black Stars but like all players in the team he must abide by the disciplinary code.

Boateng's attitude with the Black Stars after the 2010 Fifa World Cup finals has not helped matters.

The coach travelled to Milan to meet the 24-year-old over recent questions surrounding his commitment level but he refused to turn up.

Subsequent follow-up calls to the AC Milan were unanswered and he failed to return them.

Since then the coach has taken a silent disciplinary action against the former German youth international.

When asked about his relationship with the player, the Serb explained.

"No player has been dropped from the Black Stars squad permanently. All players have to abide by the disciplinary code of the team," Stevanovic said.

"The players have in me and i have in them. Together, we can build a good team to win the Nations Cup next year."

Boateng has not played for the Black Stars since refusing to travel to play a friendly against South Korea in June.
