Former Ghana International Prince Polley, has advised Black Stars coach, Charles Kwabla Akonnor, not to repeat mistakes made in the past that has seen Ghana missed out on the AFCON title since 1982.

Polley who was part of  Ghana’s 1992 AFCON squad opened up on issues which affected the team’s chances of winning the title.

According to him, deep-rooted factions in the camp were one of the major reasons that led to the team’s inability to win the trophy.

He also revealed that the captaincy row in the camp also affected the Black Stars and it is one area CK Akonnor must check in order to ensure the current team does not suffer the same fate.

“Leadership has always been a problem for the Black Stars and just recently we could see that faction between Dede Ayew and Asamoah Gyan. I will advise CK Akonnor to learn from all that has happened in the past. He has been there before and he should take a clue from it. ”, he told Happy FM.
