Ghana head coach Charles K Akonnor would be ringing changes to his squad for the friendly game against Qatar as he seeks to impress the Black Stars fans with a win against the Asians.

Akonnor, a former Ghana international winger has come in for massive criticism following the Black Stars big defeat to their neighbours Mali in his first game in charge of the side on Friday.

The Black Stars face reigning Asian champions at the Emir Hotel Sports Complex on Monday in Antalya, Turkey.

Akonnor is expected to make changes to the squad that lost 3-0 to Mali on Friday at the same match venue.

Central defender Nicholas Opoku would be replaced with Celta Vigo's Joseph Aidoo for Monday's clash.

Opoku suffered an injury in Friday's encounter making him unavailable for selection.

Israeli based Eugene Ansah would likely make way for either Samuel Owusu or Kamaldeen Sulemana on the wings.

Left-back Gideon Mensah who had a tough time against the Malians might make way for another player.

Jordan Ayew, Thomas Partey, Andre Ayew and Kassim Nuhu Adams are all in contention for starting roles.

Tariqe Fosu will keep his right-back position after impressing on his debut last Friday.
