Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah warns of tough World Cup qualifiers

Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah has urged his players to be on their mettle for tough battles in the 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.

The ex-Black Stars captain saw his side-who beat Lesotho 7-0 in their opener-brought down to earth last Saturday in a 1-0 defeat to Zambia.

But they took consolation from Lesotho's shock 0-0 draw with Sudan to throw the Group wide open.

Appiah managed four points from the available six and he was quick to identify threat posed by Sudan.

"The other team is Sudan and they showed by beating Zambia, they are also a good team," Appiah said.

"The key for them [Sudan] is that they have been together for a very long time and so we are in a group where every game is going to be vital.''

Ghana's next assignment in the qualifiers will be against leaders Sudan on March 22 2013 in Omdurman.
