Ghana coach locks down Jordan Ayew

Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac has ended France's quest to lure Ghana youngster Jordan Ayew to play for the European country.

The Marseille midfielder will not be able to play for France forever after making his Black Stars debut on Sunday.

The son of legend Abedi Pele made was a late substitute in Ghana's 3-0 win over Swaziland in the Nations Cup qualifier.

Rajevac's decision to give him some playing time for the first national team of Ghana means he will not be able to play for any other country.

Ayew, son of legend Abedi Pele, was named to play for Ghana U20 side but he could have still played for France if he turned out for the Black Satellites.

That is because Fifa allows players to switch nationality only if they had played for another country national team A.

This means the few minutes Jordan spent of the pitch after coming on for his brother will forever tie him to his father's country.

Ex-Ghana coach Guiseppe Dossena left Germany international Gerald Asamoah in the stands when he had the opportunity to cap him the Black Stars over a decade ago.

Asamoah was furious about the Italian coach's snub and later turned out to play for Germany at the World Cup.

Rajevac has firmly ended the possibility of lightining striking twice with Ghana.
