Ghana coach Otto Addo has chosen to withhold his prediction for the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League winner, stating he needs to watch more games before drawing any conclusions.
Addo's cautious stance comes after observing Medeama SC's narrow 1-0 victory over Legon Cities in match week two at the Legon Stadium.
He also witnessed Samartex's win over Nsoatreman in the 2024 Ghana Super Cup at the newly renovated TNA Stadium, as well as Medeama’s penalty shootout loss to Basake Holy Stars in the Apinto Cup.
Despite being impressed with Medeama and Samartex, Addo is hesitant to make any definitive predictions, noting that he still needs to see how other top teams, such as Asante Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, perform this season.
“From what I saw from Medeama and also Samartex, they are doing well,” Addo said. “So maybe it's among these two, but I haven't seen all the matches, so I'm eager also to watch Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, and all the good teams, and then we'll see. But at the moment, I can't make any statement about who will win the league.”
Addo also revealed his intention to attend more Ghana Premier League matches this season to scout for home-based talent, highlighting his commitment to the growth of the local league.
