Ghana coach Stevanovic cools talk on resignation

Coach Goran Stevanovic says it is too early to start talk of his resignation if Ghana fails to beat Tunisia in the quarter finals of the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Black Stars take on the Carthage Eagles in the final fixture of the first knockout round at the Stade de Franceville on Sunday.

A loss for Ghana against the 2004 champions means the Serbian trainer fails in his own set target to deliver at least a trophy for the nation which is most likely tantamount to a sack or his resignation.

But Stevanovic says it is only after Sunday’s game that talk of a possible resignation could be ignited.

“After topping the group with seven points I don’t think this is the good moment to talk about resignation,” he said.

“Let’s wait for the outcome of tomorrow’s game and we will see.”
