Ghana defender Daniel Addo has revealed he suffered racial abuse at FC Zorya Luhank last season.

The 21-year-old joined the Ukrainian outfit in January 2011 and has since impressed for the Luhansk-based side.

He played a pivotal role in their survival last term but says he suffered a barrage of racial abuse in the European country.

“Yes, racism is prevalent in Ukraine. I have had people call be ‘black’ on the pitch but I do not waste my time on such people,” Addo told 90 Minutes newspaper

“When you know what you want, you do not allow detractors to prevent you from achieving that aim.

“Racism is found all over the world and Ukraine is no different.

“There are people in Ukraine who are really nice when they meet you in the streets, but others are not.

“It just like how people react to white people in the streets in Ghana,”

Ghanaian-born Italian Mario Barwuah Balloteli has threatened to kill anyone who racially abuses him at the upcoming Euro 2012 Championsship to be co-hosted in Ukraine and Poland.
