Ghana defender Harrison Afful says’ he’s not surprised with his impressive form for Esperance after scoring in their 3-1 win over Club Africain on Sunday.

The Ghanaian international opened the scoring in the 8th minute with a sublime finish before Bilel Ifa equalized eight minutes later from the spot kick.

Esperance restored their lead through Chamseddine Dhaouad in the 39th minute before Algerian midfielder Youssef Belail killed off the ambitions of the visitors with the third goal.

The 26-year-old has simply been unstoppable since joining the Blood and Gold four seasons ago.

But the ex-Asante Kotoko defender says he’s focused on his game and not getting swollen-headed with the plaudits.

“I am very happy not because I scored but my team has three points,” Afful said

“We wanted to win at all cost and I’m happy we managed to get the needed goals.

“We’re looking ahead to the rest of the matches. We want to win the League and represent the club in the CAF Champions League next year.”

Afful’s performance is well-documented in the Tunisian League where he has been a regular for Esperance since 2009.
