Ghana defender Alexander Djiku believes Racing Strasbourg are on the "right path" after drawing 2-2 with Swiss giants Young Boys in a pre-season friendly this week.

The 26-year-old featured for the side as they shared the spoils in the preparatory match.

And the Ghana international is delighted with the team's preparations ahead of the start of the new season.

"The team had a good behavior overall, we had the strength of character and the mentality to come back after the 2-1. It shows the daily state of mind, of not wanting to let go," he said

"Knowing that Bern is a very good team which plays Europe every year and completely dominates its championship. In terms of play, we got off to a good start with a possession to our advantage which resulted in the goal.

"The action that precedes their equalization is 1-1, you can even double the bet. In the last quarter of an hour, we fell back a bit, but we formed a low block and that also allowed us to work on the defensive aspect, without the ball.

"In terms of animation, our 4-4-2 gave them problems by our permutations while keeping the balance.

"We continue to work on different systems, as in the second period with a 4-3-3, we are on the right track. I hope we will have a good season and I hope to see a full Meinau at the beginning of August."
