Ghana defender Daniel Amartey continued to warm the bench for Leicester City when they played out to a 0-0 draw with Arsenal at home in the English Premier League on Saturday.

The talented defender was angling for a starting place with the Foxes this season after warming the bench for most parts of last term.

But his dreams of playing in the starting team were dashed on Saturday when he was yet again named to start of the bench of the game at the King Power Stadium.

And just like last season, he sat on the bench throughout the game with no chance of coming on as the starting defenders impressed.

With the defender that helped them to the title still in place, Amartey's hopes of playing from the start looks very far from reality.

As the defence still looks in good shape Amartey's only hopes of playing are injuries in the defence which will force coach Claudio Ranieri to make some changes.

His bench role could also affect his hopes of grabbing a place in Ghana's starting line up with the World Cup qualifiers looming.
