Ghana defender Andy Yiadom misses out on Reading’s player of the month for March award

Ivorian player Yakou Meite has been voted as Reading’s player of the month for March after beating Ghana defender Andy Yiadom.

Meite was the comfortable winner of the poll with a 74% vote share, ahead of Yiadom (21%) and Michael Olise (5%).

The Ivorian only played in the final three games of the month after returning from injury, but his importance was highlighted by the fact he netted in all of them.

All three goals were equalisers - first off the bench against Nottingham Forest and then in starts against Birmingham City and Queens Park Rangers.

Without Meite getting on the scoresheet, Reading would have picked up zero points in those matches.

The fullback has made 14 appearances where he has scored once and also assisted once in the Championship.
