Ghana defender Asare scores twice to help defeat Ajax

Ghana defender Nana Kwesi Asare scored a classy double for FC Utrecht who dented the Ajax's title bid with comprehensive 6-4 victory in the Dutch top-flight on Sunday.

The 25-year-old cancelled out Dmitriy Bulykin's opener in the 16th minute before scoring Utrecht's fifth goal on the 55th minute.

Asare, captain of Utrecht, broke loose on the left flank and skipped past three Ajax defenders before firing home from the edge of the box.

The former KV Mechelen defender profited from an error by Ajax keeper Kenneth Vermeer to make it 5-3 in favour of the host.

Vermeer who received a back pass from a team-mate shot directly into the path of Asare who clinically finished off.

This was the Kumasi-born's second brace of the season for Utrecht.
