Ghana defender John Boye is optimistic his impressive display at the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations will earn him a regular spot at club level.

The Stade Rennes defender has been a revelation at the tournament with solid defensive performances.

The 24-year-old believes his Nations Cup travails at the Nations Cup will confirm his position as a starter for the French Ligue 1 side.

"Yes of course, I believe my coach and the people have seen what I can do and so I remain positive I will play more," Boye said.

"It's the coach's decision but I also believe in myself that I can offer something to the team and if you at my performance, I am not I did badly.

"I am going back to be my team with renewed confidence to play my part if I'm selected."

Boye is suspended for Ghana's third-place match against Mali due to yellow card accumulation.
