Ghana left back Gideon Mensah has left Belgium Jupiler Pro league side Zulte Waregem at the end of his loan spell.

The defender leaves the club after an excellent loan stint, which saw him make 19 appearances for the club before the league was cancelled due to COVID-19.

The former WAFA player returns to parent club and newly crowned Austrian champions Red Bull Salzburg.

Following an impressive loan spell with Zuilte Waregem, clubs in Belgium have shown interest in acquiring his services, with Genk and Anderlecht leading the race.

Mensah also earned his first two international caps for Ghana last November in the Nations Cup qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome.

The 21-year old moved to Austria in 2016 to join FC Liefring, the youth side of Red Bull Salzburg, and has since enjoyed loan spells at Sturm Graz and LASK Linz.
