Defender Gideon Mensah has returned to training at Vitória Sport Clube after recovering from COVID-19.

Mensah tested positive for the virus after the international break and has since been in self isolation.

But after another test this week, the Ghana left back tested negative and has now reunited with his Vitória de Guimaraes teammates in training.

The 22-year-old was part of the seven Black Stars players who contract COVID-19 whiles on international duty.

Mensah played both games for Ghana in Turkey. He started in the game against Mali as the Black Stars lost 3-0 and was key in Ghana's 5-1 thrashing of Qatar.

He is yet to make his debut for Vitória Sport Clube since joining on loan from Austria giants Red Bull Salzburg.

The wing back could start when Vitória de Guimaraes travel to play Gil Vincente on Sunday.

"Feels great to be back in training with the whole squad. Thanks to everyone for their prayers and motivation," he posted on Twitter.
