Ghana World Cup defender Jonathan Mensah was an unused substitute in Evian TG’s heavy 3-0 home defeat to Caen on Saturday night.

Head coach Pascal Dupraz overlooked the centre-back as they were condemned by first half goals from N'Golo Knate and a double from Mathieu Duhamel.

Mensah, who played in all of Ghana’s three matches at the World Cup in Brazil, has some catching up to do to break into the first XI.

He made 26 appearances for Evian last term and scored one goal.
