Ghana defender Joseph Aidoo just a card away from suspension as Celta Vigo fight to avoid drop

Celta Vigo defender Joseph Aidoo is just one card away from being suspended in the side's relegation push.

The 24-year-old must avoid sanction against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday night to feature in the crucial four remaining matches in the La Liga.

The Ghana international has picked four accumulated yellow cards - meaning a fifth will automatically rule him against Osasuna on Saturday.

He is now just a card away from being suspended as Celta Vigo fight against relegation.

There are huge concerns for Celta with as many as three key players just a caution away from suspension.

Goalkeeper Rubén Blanco, Left-back winger Lucas Olaza, central defender Jeison Murillo, attackers Fedor Smolov, Santi Mina and midfielder Pape Cheikh are a single card from the suspension.

Aidoo has made 29 appearances for the Spanish side this season as they continue to fight to stay afloat.

Celta Vigo are currently above the drop zone, six points clear of Real Mallorca.
