Ghana international defender Rashid Sumaila is keen to impress at his new job at Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 20-year-old Black Stars center-back has signed a pre-contract with Brazilians and would join the club after his loan deal with Asante Kotoko expires.

Sumaila has already enjoyed success on the Ghanaian local scene winning the Ghana Premier League title with Asante Kotoko and received his first senior Ghana cap.

The Ebusua Dwarfs defender would swell the Ghanaian numbers in the South African top-flight but he insists he would not just be there to add up the numbers.

"I would have to do well to prove my worth because they saw something in me before agreeing to sign me," he told Accra-based Asempa FM.

Sumaila made his senior Ghana debut after coming off the bench in their 3-1 win over Sudan in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers in June.
