Astounding Ghana defender Rashid Sumaila won his first trophy of the season with Kuwait giants Al Qadsia after guiding them to win the 2018 Crown Prince Cup.

Al Qadsia won 7-6 on penalties after a pulsating 1-1 draw with Al Kuwaiti on Tuesday evening at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium.

This is the first trophy for the Ghanaian and his Al Qadsia side since returning from Al Gharafa on loan.

Sumaila lasted the entire duration of the game and was a key figure in the Qadsia defence that shielded the strong Al Kuwaiti forward from winning the game under regulation time.

The game traveled into extra time after ending in a 1-1 stalemate after regulation time but the extra time also failed to produce goals, forcing the encounter to be decided through the lottery of penalty kicks.
