Ghana duo Nasiru and Waris miss out on Swedish league title

Ghana pair Majeed Waris and Nasiru Mohammed had their chance of winning their first major career title slipped away on Thursday after failing to beat AIK Stockholm in the Swedish top-tier.

Waris and Nasiru were both in action for BK Hacken as they split the points in a one-all draw with visiting AIK Stockholm at the Rambergsvallen.

Hacken needed all three points from the game to keep themselves in contention for the league title but failed to protect their lead as AIK equalised late in the first half to end the game one-all.

Hacken are now in third place with 54 points and trail leaders Elfsborg by four points with just one game left to end the season.

Waris played full throttle for Hacken and was voted most valuable player of the match while Ghana attacker Nasiru Mohammed came off the bench in the 79th minute.

Striker Kwame Karikari was enjoyed full-time action for AIK while Moro Ibrahim warmed the bench.
