In its latest bid to clear up the refereeing mess in Ghana football, the country's governing body has slapped heavy bans on two match officials Fred Donkor and Richard Kotey.

The duo were the major casualties in the latest sanctions meted to match officials for poor performance by the Ghana FA.

Donkor has been suspended for six weeks for disallowing a good goal scored by Mighty Jets in the game against Ebusua Dwarfs.

Assitant referee Richard Kotey gets similar punishment for awarding Hearts of Oak a vital second goal in the game against New Edubiase.

Television replays later showed that the whole circumference of the ball did not cross the line to merit being a goal.

Referee Cecil Fletcher is also suspended for four weeks for ignoring a reckless tackle from behind on a player of New Edubiase who had a good chance to score and showing a yellow card to a New Edubiase player for a violent conduct instead of a red card.

Elsewhere, Samuel Sukah is handed a five-week suspension for failing to award a late penalty to Hearts in the game against Dwarfs in Cape Coast.

The decision taken by the Ghana FA Executive Committee ratifies recommendations of the Referee Review panel and takes effect from the ninth week of the Premier League.
