Ghana FA President Kwasi Nyantakyi has assured supporters of Ebusua Dwarfs of a fair hearing at the Disciplinary Committee over the ban of their home grounds.

The Cape Coast-based side have had their favourite Robert Mensah Stadium banned from hosting any approved Ghana FA matches following attacks on match officials by irate fans.

The attacks ensued following a disallowed late equalizer for Dwarfs in their 1-0 Premier League defeat to Aduana Stars on

The Ghana FA have since invoked article 15.2 of its regulations to suspend a venue where the security of teams, officials, and spectators cannot be guaranteed.

This decision has however fuelled speculations of the association’s intent to unduly punish Dwarfs but the Ghana FA boss in his interactions with the club’s supporters on Saturday assured the rule of fairness will be applied in the adjudication of the case.

“The suspension of football matches at the Robert Mensah Stadium is not a punishment to Ebusua Dwarfs,” he told the fans.

“We simply invoked one of the articles in our regulations after it became evidently clear that the security of players, officials and supporters could not be guaranteed on that ground.

“In going forward I would like to assure you that the Ghana FA will treat this case with all the fairness it deserves and therefore no fan should harbour a perception that the GFA is out to unduly punish Dwarfs.

“We want to make sure that at the end of the day, football can be played in a fair manner for the enjoyment of all so I urge you remain calm and have confidence that this case will be brought to a logical end.”

Dwarfs have since been ordered to play the remainder of their league games at the Sunyani Coronation Park until the DC comes out with its verdict.

Sunday’s ‘home-away-from-home’ game with Asante Kotoko has however been moved to the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi to afford maximum support to Berekum Chelsea in their Caf Champions League game against Raja de Casablanca.
