Ghana FA boss Kurt Okraku urges Ghana U20 to seek FIFA World Cup qualification

Ghana Football Association President Mr. Kurt Edwin Simeone Okraku has charged the Black Satellites to seek qualification to the next edition of the FIFA U20 World Cup.

The Ghana U20 team are currently preparing for WAFU Zone B Cup of Nations tournament in Benin which serves as the qualifications to the U20 Africa Cup of Nations.

Mr. Okraku urged Karim Zito's side to leave a memorable mark in the regional tournament in Benin during his final address to the team at their camp base in Prampram.

He expects the team to put an excellent display to be able to make it to the FIFA World Cup in Indonesia in 2021.

"We expect Ghana to be represented by boys who are proud to wear our jerseys who will walk through the tunnel onto the pitch chest out to fight for glory for our country," he said.

"It’s been a long while since we made the U20 World Cup. And that history must be broken. That history must be broken by this group of players here.

"We play against Nigeria and Ivory Coast… these are sides we have beaten over and over before and we believe we have the quality to beat them and to win the group.

The U20 WAFU Zone B Cup of Nations tournament is scheduled to start from 5 December to 20 December, 2020 in Benin.

The finalists of the tournament secure their ticket to the U20 Africa Cup of Nations in Mauritania in 2021.
