Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi has paid tribute to Executive Committee member Emmanuel Owusu-Ansah, who passed away on Friday.

The former Vice-President of the GFA died in Accra after a short illness.

He was 73.

Owusu-Ansah, who is a Member of Parliament for Kwabre West in the Ashanti Region, served in various capacities for Asante Kotoko for many years.

"It's a desperately sad loss for the Ghana football family," Nyantakyi told Ghanafa.org.

"At the moment it's a very difficult thing to come to terms with.

"He was a very intelligent person - a deep thinker. He had a big impact on Ghana football when he came into the administration of the game in the country.

"He brought tremendous experience to the GFA after many years of work in the private and public sector.

"As a member of the Executive Committee, he's worked very closely with me, he was an inspiration to us all and a very sad loss for Ghana football."

Owusu-Ansah's death comes few days after the Vice-President of the GFA Jordan Anagblah passed away.
