Ghana FA boss Kwesi Nyantakyi is confident government will release the U$ 5 million in time for the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Ghana federation needs the amount to prepare adequately for the tournament as the Black Stars attempt to end a 30-year wait for an African title.

But the country's government is yet to release the money with barely 15 days before the team moves into camping on 7 January in South Africa.

However, Nyantakyi is positive the money will be released before the turn of the Year to aid  their campaign.

"Normally it takes a long process. We have sent the money to the Ministry of Sports and it will be forwarded to the Chief of Staff," Nyantakyi told Happy FM.

"We have given the budget to them long ago and we hope we get the money in time

"Because if we don't get the money, we can't go to the Cup of Nations."
