The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has refuted reports that it has made an offer to coach Amir Abdou to become the new head coach of the Black Stars.
Several reports in the last 48 hours has indicated that the Ghana FA has offered coach Amir Abdou a $45,000 per month salary to take over as head coach for the national team.
Speaking to Akoma FM in an interview on Wednesday, February 7, GFA General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo has denied these reports.
According to him, there has been no approach from the football association.
“It's never true that Ghana has approach Amir Abdou for the Black Stars job. How much did we (Ghana) paid to Akwasi Appiah and Chris Hughton to think of paying Amir Abdou $45000,” Prosper Harrison Addo said.
After sacking Chris Hughton following Ghana’s catastrophic campaign at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, the GFA is on the hunt for a new head coach.
Already, over 600 coaches have applied for the vacant job.
