J.A. Amenyah was the major casualty of referee bans in a decision ratified by the Ghana FA's Executive Committee on Friday.

GHANAsoccernet.com exclusively revealed yesterday of the decision by the Referee Review Committee to sanction some referees for poor officiating in the two-week old league, a decision which has now been passed by the Ghana Ex.Co at its latest meeting on Friday.

Amenyah has thus been banned for the rest of the league matches in the first round for awarding two dubious penalty kicks to Ebusua Dwarfs in their match against Bechem United.

Seidu Bomison follows suit with a six-week ban for wrongly disallowing an obvious goal against Berekum Arsenals in their second-week away encounter with Wassaman United.

Vincent Otoo gets a four week ban for failing to award a definite penalty to Asante Kotoko in their opening league game away to Tema Youth while his assistant on the day, Isaac Effah Tetteh has been banned for the remaining league matches of the first round.

Referee Solomon Mordey, Ali Musah Plato and S.B. Bortey also receives four-week bans for failing to award a penalty to Mighty Jets against Hearts of Oak, another penalty snub against Jets in their opening league game with Berekum Chelsea and denying Medeama a clear penalty kick in their game against Wa All Stars respectively.

The move is part of efforts employed by the Ghana FA to stem out perceived endemic bribery and corruption of match officials to serve the grand agenda of delvering a credible league this season.

The bans take effects from the 3rd week of league matches which begins this weekend.
