Ghana FA Executive Council member Dr Toni Aubynn has hailed the work ethic of the association boss Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku.

Okraku has been a man on a mission since he replaced long-standing Kwesi Nyantakyi as the new president of the Ghana Football Association.

The position of the former Dreams FC Executive Chairman has been legitimized after the Court of Arbitration for Sport affirmed his position following a landmark ruling last week.

He has instituted several measures to restore confidence in the association and Dr Aubynn has been left impressed with the work ethic of his colleague.

“The President doesn’t sleep, he can call me around 1am for ideas, I can tell you. I know he is 100% fully committed to the work he is doing,” he is quoted by Atinka FM

“People complain but I personally know the FA have good vision for Ghana football and wants the best for Ghana Football, lets demand accountability from the FA and demand performance from the FA.

“Looking at the kind of work the President is doing I believe the GHC12,000 monthly wage for him (Kurt Okraku) is fair.”

Since taking over in late 2019, a host of initiatives targeting the well being of the next generation have been rolled over to solve the ills of Ghana football.

Plans to get athletes on Government Scholarship Schemes and the revival of Colts Football that directly informed setting up a Juvenile Committee readily come to mind. However, the headlining initiative introduced has to be the “Catch Them Young Refereeing “Policy.

This policy aims at developing young individuals in refereeing games beginning at the juvenile level with an eye to see them grow into world class officials.

Many a project over the years has focused on developing talent of athletes with little to no attention paid to equipping the key individuals in black at the heart of competition across all levels of the sport.

The focus is on the future but folks in the present have not been left out in the cold as the GFA’s “Bring Back The Love” Campaign highlights efforts to raise the profile of the Ghanaian leagues.
