Asante Kotoko’s one transfer market ban has been lifted by the Ghana Football Association’s Player Status Committee on Wednesday March 3.
Asante Kotoko were dealt a heavy blow by the Player Status Committee in January following the committee’s decision to sanction the Kumasi-based outfit from making new signings until the summer of 2022.
Per ruling released by the aforementioned committee on January 26, 2021, the Porcupine Warriors were found guilty of breaching players’ contracts on numerous countsewhich the Red and Whites which the club always protested their innocence. After a successful appeal by the club, the Player Status Committee finally decided to lift the ban to free up the club to be able to make player purchases this transfer window. The record winning champions can now afford to bolster their squad in the ongoing window. The second window opened on February 16 and will shut at 11:59 pm on Thursday, March 18, 2021.
