Coach Akwasi Appiah will be unveiled as new Black Stars coach on April 17 after he reached an agreement with the Ghana Federation over the terms of his contract on Tuesday.
The former Black Stars captain met the powerful Executive Committee of the Association on Tuesday and successfully negotiated the terms of his contract.
The negotiation bothered on his remuneration and compensation package which includes accommodation, means of transportation, salary and communication aid amongst others.
It’s widely speculated that the ex-Asante Kotoko defender to could earn half of the € 30,000 his predecessor Goran Stevanovic took home as monthly salary.
Appiah has been presented with a huge responsibility to guide the Black Stars to qualify for the 2013 African cup of Nations and more crucially the World cup in Brazil 2014 to stake a huge claim for his compatriots.
Ghana, 2010 World Cup quarter-finalists, had over a year ago appointed Stevanovic as the coach of the four-time African champions.
Stevanovic, 45, promised to deliver Ghana a Nations Cup trophy after a three-decade wait when he was contracted.
But the team failed to win the 2012 African Cup of Nations nations after it was knocked out by eventual winners Zambia in the semi-final.
He will be unveiled on April 17 at the GFA's secretariat as he await his first assignment in June against Lesotho in the World cup qualifier
