The Ghana Football Association has told Dutch trainer Hans Van der Plyum the vacant junior national team positions were reserved for Ghanaian coaches.

The statement is in reaction to the 62-year-old's comments after being snubbed for the national Under-20 job.

The Ghana News Agency attributed quotes to him accusing the FA as racists after being over-looked.

GFA vice president Jordan Anagbla says priority was given to Ghanaian nationals who applied for the post.

"The vacant positions declared were solely for Ghanaian coaches. What about other foreign coaches who were snubbed for the jobs?," he told Accra-based Happy FM

"We will not appoint a foreign coach when local coaches have the right qualifications to handle our junior teams," he continued.

Van der Plyum has been appointed as Berekum Chelsea.
