Ghana FA resolves Kotoko-Metro TV dispute

Published on: 12 April 2012

Ghana Premier League TV rights holders Optimum Media Prime (OMP) has been cleared to telecast Sunday's derby between Kotoko and Hearts in Kumasi.

The Executive Committee of the Ghana FA met with the club and the media syndicate outfit after an incident last December.

Angry fans of Kotoko damaged broadcast equipment belonging to OMP at the Baba Yara Stadium against following comments by commentators Nana Agyemang and Christopher Opoku.

OMP-who owns Metro TV- was asked not to cover home matches of Asante Kotoko until the matter was resolved.

The match will be shown live on South Africa-based Pay TV channel Supersport and on local free-to-air station Metro TV.
