Ghana will start their camping for the 2014 World Cup on 25 May in the Dutch city of Rotterdam.

The Black Stars will also pitch camp in the United States as two locations have been planned for the team’s preparation for the World Cup.

They will be based in Los Angeles which has a similar climate like the venues for Ghana’s matches at the World Cup in Brazil in June.

The Ghana team will arrive in Rotterdam on 25 May and play Holland six days later in their first friendly match in preparation for the tournament in Brazil.

The Black Stars have been placed in the Group of Death where they face USA, Germany and Portugal in Group D and Ghana FA president Kwesi Nyantakyi insists it is the right preparation for the team.

“The Black Stars will begin their camping on 25th May in Rotterdam and play against the Netherlands on 31st May and continue in the USA in Los Angeles, where we will set a date with Honduras, before we finally go to Brazil,” Nyantakyi said.

This means players of the Black Stars will have at least a one-week break before starting the camping for the World Cup.

That is because FIFA’s compulsory break for players will start on 18 May.
