Ghana FA set to engage Dortmund over Otto Addo coaching role

The Ghana Football Association are set to hold talks with Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund over the Black Stars coaching role, GHANASoccernet.com can authoritatively report. 

The German club agreed to allow the former Black Stars player take charge of the Black Stars in an interim role during the World Cup playoff against Nigeria.

However, a decision to extend his contract on a long term deal is yet to be agreed on by all parties including Otto Addo.

The GFA have already held talks with Otto Addo, who is very interested in leading the Black Stars alongside continuing his work with Dortmund's youth team.

GHANASoccenet.com understands the GFA president Kurt Okraku is in Europe to get a deal done with the club and Otto Addo for the coaching job.

“I am meeting with my bosses on Thursday to discuss the Black Stars job and the possibility of continuing with them. Sure (I’m willing to do Black Stars job) but I have to discuss the contract," Otto Addo revealed in an interview with Tv3.

“I have a good relationship (with Dortmund) so I hope they will allow me to continue to coach the Black Stars. Hopefully (I will be able to work with Dortmund and Black Stars at the same time,” he added.

Otto Addo will be leading the Black Stars in the qualifiers for the 2023 Nations Cup as well as the FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year.

Ghana will face Madagascar, Angola and Central African Republic in the AFCON qualifiers while they play Portugal, South Korea and Uruguay at the World Cup later this year.
