Ghana Football Association Executive Council member Randy Abbey has revealed that no target has been set for new Black Stars Charles Kwablan Akonnor.

The former Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko was confirmed as coach last weekend, replacing Kwesi Appiah.

Already there have been reports that the new coach has been tasked to end Ghana's trophy drought by winning 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

But Randy has denied those claims. According to him, the GFA will meet Akonnor this week and a realistic target will be set for him.

"The Nations cup was 18 months away but now its 11 months. You have to take that into consideration when delivering targets," Randy said on Joy FM.

"We will meet next week and by that time we will have the targets set for CK Akonnor and the other coaches."

Akonnor first match as Black Stars coach will be in March against Sudan.
