Black Stars forward Caleb Ekuban has handed in a transfer request to Trabzonspor as he seeks a move away from the club this summer, GHANAsoccernet.com can report.

The 27-year-old has been in a tussle with the Turkish club recently as he wants to move before the start of the 2021/2022 campaign.

Trabzonspor has held on to the Ghana international as they will allow him to go if the right offer comes for him.

Ekuban told management of the burgundy-blue about his desire to leave after the last training session in Riva.

Serie A outfit Genoa are leading the race to sign the enterprising forward and are believed to be preparing a bid of 2.1 million Euros to secure his signature.

Ekuban has made 103 appearances for Trabzonspor, scoring 29 league goals and providing 18 assists since joining from English side Leeds United in July 2019.

The former Chievo Verona youth player had a stellar campaign last season in the Turkish Superlig having scored 10 goals in 32 matches.
