Ghana forward Kwesi Appiah has disclosed that his former teammate at Crawley Town Tom Dallison played a role in his move to Colchester United.

Appiah reunited with Dallison after completing a season-long loan from Crawley Town in the summer transfer window.

Appiah said: "I'm going to call him Agent Dallo!

"He's been grafting, to be fair to him.

"He was on the blower quite a lot trying to convince me to come down.

"He knows as a friend of mine what my options were and was pushing for me to come here and I guess he's got it done in the end!

"I did speak to him a bit and I know John (Akinde) as well - he was my strike partner in the youth team (at Ebbsfleet) back in the day.

"Me and John go way back and I spoke to him about it, too.

"They both convinced me that this is where I should be so happy to have got it across the line."

Appiah made his Colchester debut in the game against Hartlepool and will be hoping for more game time this season.
