Ghana forward Abdul Majeed Waris is set to be sidelined for some time after picking an injury in FC Nantes's loss against Saint Etienne in the French Ligue 1 on Friday.

The high-flying St. Etienne piled more misery on FC Nantes after inflicting a 3-0 defeat on the struggling visitors in week 15 of the league.

The defeat at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard came at a big loss for the Canaries following injury to Majeed Waris who has started finding his best form for the club.

The 27-year-old had to make way for French youngster Randal Kolo in the 68th minute with an injury.

The substitution of Waris and goalkeeper Anton Tatarusanu who also suffered an injury created a big vacuum in the side's play as they shortly conceded the opening goal via Robert Beric on the 72nd minute.

Wahbi Kazri made it 2-0 in the 84th minute before defender Timothée Kolodziejczak headed in the goal of the Verts.

Waris is expected to undergo tests on Monday to determine the extent of the injury.

He has scored once in 15 games for Vahid Halilhodzic's outfit.
